Gladman MHRC Leadership Retreat: A Huge Success!

Â黨ɫÇéƬ's Gladman Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC) in Oakland, CA, recently held a leadership retreat that was an incredible success. The staff gained greater knowledge and insight into each department's skills and capabilities. By working together, the team developed more powerful joint leadership abilities. This allowed them to build stronger camaraderie and gain a deeper shared understanding of their team.

The first exercise during the leadership retreat was dedicated to understanding each department's role within Gladman. With so many different departments in the program, it was an invaluable opportunity for leaders to check in with each other, appreciate everyone's achievements, and identify growth areas. By understanding the scope of individual responsibilities, leadership can better ensure everyone on the same team is working toward a brighter future.

The second activity was helping people develop their leadership skills and build a strong team leadership framework. This is a crucial step to ensure success, and it's encouraging to see people being proactive in taking up these skills.

In the third activity, the leadership at Gladman had a phenomenal opportunity. It was to develop a team charter to help cement their mission, vision, values, and direction. This will be an especially powerful tool in enabling leadership to achieve great success with Gladman as a whole.

After a productive day, the team reconvened at Plank for lunch and fun activities like bowling. Ending the day by connecting more casually is a wonderful way to enjoy quality time amongst peers.

Alex Briceño has recently transitioned from his role as Gladman’s administrator and will temporarily run programs in Santa Maria. As this transition is underway, the Gladman team is excited to welcome Lauren McChesney into her new role as the program's new administrator. We thank them both for their dedication and look forward to what's ahead.

Â黨ɫÇéƬ admires the work put into this leadership retreat! Thank you, Gladman, for coming together, and congratulations on working towards becoming better leaders!
